Kalasam Crashes From Rajagopuram At HR&CE-Administered Tenkasi Kasi Viswanathar Temple Just 4 Months After Kumbhabishekam

Rajagopuram Kalasam Collapses At Tenkasi Kasi Viswanathar Temple; Devotees Demand Probe & Quick Repair

The recent incident at the Tenkasi Kasi Viswanathar Temple, which is a Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department administered temple, where a cement kalasam (finial) from the Rajagopuram (main temple tower) came crashing down just four months after its consecration, has left devotees shocked and concerned.

The temple’s kumbabhishekam (consecration ceremony) was held in April. Now, barely a few months later, the kalasam atop the newly renovated Rajagopuram has dislodged and fallen, raising serious questions about the quality of the restoration work.

Worried devotees have demanded a thorough investigation into the construction and maintenance practices involved. Many are calling for immediate repairs and a swift replacement of the damaged kalasam, stressing that such structural failures so soon after consecration are unacceptable.
