“Just as Ayodhya Happened, Tirupparankundram Should Too,” Says Swami Mitrananda

At the ‘Sanatana Thamizhar Sangamam 2025’ event held at the Chinmaya Mission hall in Chetpet on 25 December 2025, Swami Mitrananda of the Chinmaya Mission made pointed remarks regarding the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh and issued a call for greater unity among Hindus in India.

Addressing the gathering, the spiritual leader stated, “Hindus cannot live safely in Bangladesh, yet we are remaining peaceful.” He elaborated that the Hindu community there is in a state of tamo guna and needs to be awakened.

Swami Mitrananda used the occasion to urge Hindu consolidation, suggesting that the community must come together and raise a unified voice. Drawing a parallel to the Ayodhya movement, he said, “Just as Ayodhya happened, in the same way, Thirupparankundram should be.”

He said, “In Tamil Nadu, there is a resistance, thanks to Murugan. I wish Thirupparankundram becomes how Ayodhya was. We should look at it, build it up, that should be our goal. After what is happening is Murugan also, we are not coming together, it is a very sleeping community. Hindus are in tamo guna, we have to bring them out of that guna, it is a struggle.”

Referring to the situation in Bangladesh, Swami Mitrananda said Hindus there were unable to live safely. He added that while the community continued to remain restrained, Hindus were in a state of penance and needed to be awakened and mobilised.

His comments were received with applause from the audience attending the event.
