Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday (13 September), said, that the rail link to Kashmir would be open for the public before 2024, reports Times of India.
Vaishnav was on a visit to the Jammu Tawi railway station when he disclosed this information and said that the Government’s mission to reach “every last person in line” was a direct reference to the under-construction Jammu-Poonch railway link and said that the work on the track has been expedited and that it would be completed after addressing viability issues in the area.
Vaishnav also inspected the Jammu railway station and studied a plan to upgrade it along with the Kathua railway and said that all appropriate steps would be taken to facilitate pilgrims and tourists.
