‘Jai Hind, Long Live Bharat, Let TN prosper’: BJP TN head Annamalai blows the conch

Former IPS officer K. Annamalai, who had earned the monicker ‘Singham’ owing to his daring career in police was appointed as the Tamil Nadu BJP President after the post fell vacant following the elevation of Dr. L. Murugan as Union Minister.

Annamalai was the party’s Vice President and had contested the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections as candidate from Aravakurichi. He had secured more than 68000 votes.

After his appointment, Annamalai issued a statement on social media in which he blew the conch to the politics that he will be undertaking as the head of the BJP in Tamil Nadu.

In his statement, Annamalai said that he will take the party’s ideology to nook and corners and infuse a spirit of nationalism in every household.

He said that Tamil Nadu has immensely benefitted from the schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and fund allocation from the Central Government.

“As a team, & with the guidance of our senior leadership in TN, we will work together & honour the faith and trust reposed on me by the national leadership”, Annamalai said.

He ended his statement with the slogans “Jai Hind! Vaazhga Bharatam (Long Live Bharat)! Valarga Tamil Nadu (Let Tamil Nadu prosper)”

The slogans of Annamalai is being seen as a direct message to the DMK after one of its ally MLA disrespected the Jai Hind slogan in the floor of the Assembly. Tiruchengode MLA E.R. Easwaran during his speech in the Assembly said that the DMK made Tamil Nadu proud by removing the Jai Hind slogan from the Governor’s address.
