Jai Bhim Controversy: Audio file reveals Advocate Chandru bargained a deal of ₹5 lakhs with Anthony Samy

Suriya’s Jai Bhim directed by T J Gnanavel has been subject to controversy for quite sometime now. Everyday, there is something new that comes up with regard to the movie. The controversy first began when the PMK party opposed the movie showing the Vanniyar community in negative light. While the names of most of the characters were kept the same, the name of the main perpetrator, the Sub-inspector who is responsible for Rajakannu’s custodial death, was changed from Anthony Samy to Guru. This, and the fact that in one scene the character is shown along with the Vanniyar’s sacred motif, the ‘Agni Pot’ has angered the members of the community.

Now, another major allegation has been placed on advocate Chandru who’s character is played by Suriya in the film. The allegation is that advocate Chandru along with a few members of the Communist party tried to bargain a deal with Anthony Samy for ₹5 lakhs, to ensure that he is not found guilty in the case. However, as Anthony Samy could not give more than ₹2 lakhs, they decided to trap him in the case entirely.  This expose has come from Anthony Samy’s very own nephew (Sister’s son).

In an audio clip published exclusively on Kathir News we can hear Anthony Samy’s nephew saying, “There’s a lot of difference between what is shown in the movie and what happened in reality. Chandru and all the communist party members bargained a deal for ₹5 lakhs. But, my uncle was merely a Sub-inspector at that time and he couldn’t afford it. None of this was shown in the movie. They should have portrayed either advocate Chandru or the members of the Communist party as villains.”

The point to be noted is that the movie reiterated that advocate Chandru did not even take a penny to handle the case for Rajakannu and only fought for justice. However, the reality of the movie that was ‘based on a true story’  is all coming out now. Check out the full audio file here:
