Instagram comes up with a new feature called Instagram Reels to fill the gap created by TikTok.
India is the fourth country after Brazil, Germany, and France to test this feature. The feature is now available in India.
This feature is available within the app. It is similar to the existing IGTV feature.
To create a video, go to the story option and click on reels. To watch other videos, go to the explore page and tap on the search icon. The first video that appears is that of the reels. Just like TikTok, one can swipe up to watch other videos. Reels has several tools for users to record and edit a 15-second video.
This internet giant said that it is planning to collaborate with many Indian creators from YouTube and TikTok to generate content on Instagram Reels.
Creators can choose from a plethora of in-app music tracks and filters such as a range of augmented reality effects. They can also create their own audio. Users cans control the speed of their video with easy-to-use tools. With the Align option, creators can adjust or maintain their stance in front of the camera when they have to record multiple cuts for a video.
This was developed right after a week of the announcement of the ban of TikTok and the other 58 apps in India. It is expected to compete with Indian apps such as Chingari, Mitron, and Roposo.
Several TikTok creators have shifted to Instagram and have asked their fans to follow up with their content on this platform now.
