An inscription has been discovered on a stone slab within the premises of the Vallathrakottai Government Student Hostel near Alangudi in Pudukkottai district.
According to officials, the slab measures about one foot in length and three-quarters of a foot in width. The inscription, written in five lines, reads: “Swasthi Sri Ippalli Vallanathan Perungovil Nagarathar Ainnutruvapperumpalli.”
The discovery is being examined by local historians and archaeologists for its cultural and historical significance.
