Indian cricketers unite to support PM Modi

Pakistan’s cricket team player Shahid Afridi who made news recently for discriminating Hindu players has once again come to the limelight for the wrong reasons. He was caught in a viral video calling Prime Minister Modi a “disease”.

Afridi was delivering a speech to a group of men in army uniform. He said “The world is currently infected by such a big disease, but the bigger disease is in Modi’s mind.” said Afridi.

Afridi’s uncalled statement on Modi has invited severe backlash from Indian cricketers. Earlier, Harbhajan and Yuvraj had posted videos in support of ‘Shahid Afridi Foundation’ which was raising funds for the underprivileged affected by COVID-19 pandemic.

“It was Afridi who requested me and Yuvi to do a video in support of his foundation as the spread of pandemic doesn’t see religion or borders. But then he has made anti-India comments,” Harbhajan said in a television interview.

Suresh Raina came back at Afridi strongly with a tweet saying better do something for his failed nation and leave #Kashmir alone.

Former cricketer and BJP MP Goutam Gambhir tweeted “Jokers like Afridi, Imran & Bajwa can spew venom against India & Narendra Modi ji to fool Pak ppl but won’t get Kashmir till judgment day! Remember Bangladesh?”

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif also jumped in favour of Gambhir and asked whether Afridi would make such statements if Pakistan players were allowed in the cash-rich Indian Premier League.

Shikar Dhawan vented out his anger saying “The world is fighting corona ,and you go behind Kashmir”

The entire Indian cricket fraternity has expressed their anger and disappointment over his comments on PM Modi and Kashmir.
