The video of Indu Makkal Chief Arjun Sampath grilling Tamil Nadu journalist with a series of questions has gone viral on social media.
Arjun Sampath, during a press conference on Friday (June 25), grilled Tamil Nadu journalists for their biased reporting. He said,” If you (journalists) have the courage, try questioning Loyola College or other Christian Institutions the same way you question Hindu Institutions. Why was Salem Murugasen’s murder not discussed by the media in the same way they discussed Jeyaraj-Bennix death? Why hasn’t there been any celebrity outcry over Murugasen’s murder?”
He questioned why the media did a live relay in front of PSBB schools but not in front of Joseph Academy, which was also caught for sexual allegations by school students.
He further said, “You are not journalists in my opinion. You are YouTubers. If having a YouTube channel qualifies you as a journalist, then I am a journalist as well.”
He also criticized the DMK government for dropping charges against protestors who were involved in violence during the anti-Sterlite, anti-Neutrino, anti-nuclear power plant and anti-CAA demonstrations.
