As Prime Minister Narendra Modi plans to inoculate over 30 crore Indians from coronavirus, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has prepared plans wherein it will deploy more than 100 aircrafts and helicopters for efficient delivery of the Covid-19 vaccine, reported Republic.
The IAF has drawn out comprehensive logistic plans that will include transport aircraft and helicopters for the delivery of the vaccine to all centres and to ensure sufficient last-mile supply of inoculation.
The planes that will be put into service will be the C-136J Super Hercules, IL-76 and Cargo aircraft C-17 Globemaster that has played such a critical role in delivering supplies to our troops at the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh.
The IAF also plans to use its Cheetah, the twin-engined heavy left Chinook, ALH and Chetak helicopters along with the Dornier and AN-32 helicopters to ensure supply reaches even smaller centres.
PM Narendra Modi during the all-party meeting held recently had assured that the first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine will be available in a matter of weeks.
