Hyderabad-based NGO delivers free oxygen cylinders for poor COVID-19 patients

A Hyderabad-based Non-Governmental Organization provided free oxygen cyclinders to poor patients currently undergoing self-isolation amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of Helping Hand Foundation’s representative Mohd Fareed Ullah said that they have been receiving many calls on a daily basis for oxygen cylinders.

He added that they are doing an online consultation with their doctor who checks the patients. If the doctor prescribes oxygen requirement, then they will deliver oxygen cylinders for free.

Around 12 to 15 cylinders have been delivered regularly and replacement are also in place.

They started a month ago and have delivered oxygen cylinders to 120 patients. Out of those 120, only 70 have recovered.

“We are following up with other patients too and are supplying oxygen whenever they need,” he said.

A patient’s relative was reported saying that her brother-in-law was in dire need of an oxygen cylinder as he was suffering from breathlessness but could not find one. When they found one, they had to pay a huge amount for that.

When they found about Helping Hand Foundation, they approached them she said that they refilled the cylinder and even provided a cylinder for her mother-in-law for free.
