Campaigning in Trichy for his mother Leema Rose Martin, who is contesting from Lalgudi as an AIADMK candidate, Jose Charles Martin hit out at DMK scion Udhayanidhi Stalin.
Addressing voters, Martin said, “I have come here for my mother’s sake, to seek your votes. I would have come a couple of days earlier, but you all know Mr. Udhayanidhi spoke a few words. I got delayed a little because I had to give him a fitting reply. That’s all, nothing else.”
He went on to criticise Udhayanidhi’s personality, stating, “He is a spoilt boy, playful boy who doesn’t know much about the outside world. The only people he knows are the four or five people around him. ‘Paldaayil Udhayanidhi’ – that’s his name. ‘Paldaayil Udhayanidhi.'”
Escalating his remarks further, Martin made allegations about Udhayanidhi’s personal life. He said, “In life, what does everyone do? When you are studying, you fall in love before getting married and you get married after that. After marriage, you have children, raise them well, get them settled, get them married, and then enjoy grandchildren – that is our Tamil tradition.”
He then added, “But what is he doing? He is already married. And after getting married, he goes around falling in love with four or five women. Not just that, and mind you, not any ordinary woman, he falls in love only with cinema actresses.”
Continuing his remarks, Martin said, “And after falling in love with those actresses, what happens is suddenly he gets a ‘love failure.’ And when there is a love failure, he suddenly goes and drinks ‘Paldaayil.’ That is his problem.”
