Hindu Munnani Rescues Girl From Forced Conversion And Marriage To Muslim Man At Kanchipuram

Hindu Munnani has thwarted an alleged Love Jihad attempt near Uthiramerur in Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu.

Selvi is the 18-year-old daughter of Balu Udayar and Alamelu who lives with her parents in Manampathy village located in Uthiramerur Taluka of Kanchipuram district.

She had just completed her schooling and had scored 442/600 in the recently declared class 12 board exams.

However according to the her statement, she was lured by a Muslim man named Imran (son of S. Mohammed Ali and Fathima) who had been forcing her to convert and marry him.

She got converted to Asma Fathima and her nikkah (Muslim marriage) was to be held on 1 June 2023. Members of socio-cultural organization Hindu Munnani upon coming to know of the matter thwarted the forced religious conversion and marriage attempt.

In a written statement by the victim, she said that Imran lured her with his words and forced her to get married to him. She said that her name was changed to Asma Fathima without her family’s consent.

“I am living in Manampathy village in Kanchipuram with my family. I am 18 and completed my schooling this year scoring 442 in my 12th grade examinations. We belong to the Hindu Kulalar community. Both my mother and father are daily wage labourers. Imran who is the son of Muhhamad Ali residing at Thandarai Junction Road kept on convincing me for marriage. I was not in a astable mind to take decision on this. I want to pursue higher education. But they have planned my wedding and also changed my name from Selvi to Asma Fathima without my family’s interest.

She has also stated ”Imran’s family have printed the invitation for wedding and mentioned that wedding is planned during June. I have recorded this statement with full consciousness that I need to continue my studies.”
