Hindu Aikyavedi workers arrested in Kerala for asking bakery owner to remove the halal certificate

Four workers of the Hindu Aikyavedi were arrested when they asked a bakery owner to remove the halal certificate. This is again one of those incidents in Kerala when the ugly head of Muslim appeasement has come to fore and supported by the LDF government.

The incident happened in Kurumassery in Ernakulam district, where a recently-inaugurated bakery exhibited advertisement of Halal food in their shop.

Hindu Aikyavedi workers Sujay, Arun, Lenin and Dhanesh peacefully went to the shop owner and handed over a letter to the owner asking him to abandon the halal advertisement.

Halal is seen as imposition of Islamic religious beliefs and practices over non-Muslims. It is also seen as leading to monoculturalism and monopoly as they restrict culinary diversity and keep non-Muslims out of business and employment opportunities.

The Hindu Aikyavedi workers have been charged under the sections of attempt to create communal unrest by the Chengamanadu police.

Halal certification is a huge industry which was once only limited to meat products. However, it has now been used on even on cosmetics such as lipsticks, eyeliners, and even real estates.
