Good samaritan leaves dozens of bananas on a regular basis at Salem bus stop for the needy

The coronavirus lockdown has been in place for the last 10 days and is being gradually tightened. Thanks to this, the needy and homeless are living on the streets. They have difficulty getting food during the lockdown.

In addition to this, daily wage labourers have lost their jobs and are struggling for food. Various social activists and voluntary organizations are providing assistance to the suffering, including food.

In this situation, an unidentified good samaritan in Salem was found leaving dozens of bananas at the bus stop from time to time for the helpless and the poor. There is a bus stop on the way to Gorimedu and Yercaud opposite the Forest Department office near Salem Asthampatti Roundtana. In the passenger bus shade set up here, some elderly people abandoned by their families are living at night.

In light of this, an unidentified person was found leaving a few dozens of bananas at the bus stop on the 10th of May. It was hung low enough for use by the needy. Following this, the destitute in the area and the hungry passers-by ate the bananas.

This was followed on the forthcoming days as well as the mystery person continued the hanging of the bunches of bananas at the bus stop. This humanitarian service, done by an anonymous person, is winning praise on social media
