The Chairperson of National Commission for Women, Rekha Sharma, on Thursday, took suo motu cognisance of vile and abusive comments made by of BHIM Army chief Chandrasekhar Azad and said that she would ‘take care of the man disgracing the name of a great hero’ after his old tweets that was bad in taste went viral on social media.

Netizens also started demanding action from Twitter to bar him from the micro-blogging site after the tweets that he made in 2018 resurfaced. It is to be noted that Chandrasekhar Azad is a verified blue tick handle.
The Bhim Army chief in his tweets had used extremely unpleasant and derogatory language against women who are seen supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He called these women as “prostitutes” and people “who sell their bodies to BJP leaders”.
On March 23, 2018, responding to a twitter handle, the Bhim Army chief wrote “go have sex and enjoy, you prostitute”.
On March 25, 2018, the BHIM Army chief tweeted against journalist Jagriti Shukla using crass language and cheap Hindi slangs and called her a “prostitute” who sells her body and does “dallal” (pimp) to BJP.
In another tweet, he called Zee News anchor Anjana Om Kashyam a prostitute and dallal.
The BHIM Army chief can also be seen derogating Union Minister Smriti Irani, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in an extremely abusive tweet.
He had even called BJP supporters as those born to dogs.
It is to be noted that Twitter had earlier censored American President Donald Trump’s tweet in which he said “when the looting starts, the shooting starts”. However, Twitter is yet to take action on the BHIM Army Chief’s account.
Author and prominent Twitter personality Shefali Vaidya questioned Twitter’s inaction and expressed concerns of safety for woman on Twitter.
This sick abusive @BhimArmyChief has a blue tick? He is abusing multiple women, accusing them of selling their body, and @TwitterIndia @manishm @misskaul verify filth like this? Hi @jack is this your way of making @Twitter safe for women? @NCWIndia @sharmarekha @smritiirani https://t.co/50ryd9s9I0

The NCW Chairperson has written to the UP DGP requesting for a strict action against the BHIM Army chief who has denied writing these tweets as he claims that he was in jail during that time.
The UP police are now in touch with cybercrime department.
