Galwan Valley martyr Havildar Pazhani’s wife given Tamil Nadu govt posting

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Tuesday (September 22), handed over the appointment order to P Vanathi Devi, wife of Havildar Pazhani who was martyred during the Galwan Valley clash between India and China at the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh.

She has been posted as a Revenue Inspector in the Civil Supply Department. She had earlier worked as a clerk in a college in the district after her graduation.

Havildar Pazhani, who had been with the Indian Army for 22 years, belonged to Kadukkaloor village in Ramanathapuram district. His brother is also in the Army and is currently posted in Rajasthan.

Pazhani has been an inspiration for many youth in the nearby areas and many of them have joined the army.  He had visited his village back in January.

Pazhani is survived by a son who is 12 years old and an 8 year old daughter.
