It was an embarrassing day for the DMK regime — one that laid bare its hypocrisy, arrogance, and fear of independent investigation. From the corridors of the Supreme Court to the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, the ruling party found itself repeatedly cornered and exposed.
Kidney Scam Linked To DMK MLA:
The Supreme Court refused to intervene in the Madras High Court’s decision to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the kidney theft racket allegedly linked to hospitals owned by a DMK MLA. Instead of welcoming the move to uncover the truth, the DMK government attempted to control the SIT by insisting on choosing the officers themselves — a blatant attempt to influence the probe. Nothing could be more shameful for a government that claims to champion “transparency.”
Armstrong Murder Case — Fear Of CBI:
In another blow, the Supreme Court rejected the Tamil Nadu government’s plea to stay the High Court’s order transferring the BSP leader Armstrong’s murder case to the CBI. The DMK’s desperation to block a CBI probe raises the obvious question — what are they trying to hide? If there is nothing to fear, why this panic every time an independent agency steps in?
Karur Stampede — Legal Chaos Of DMK Governance:
The Supreme Court also pulled up the state government over the Karur stampede case linked to a TVK rally, questioning how the Madras High Court could simultaneously entertain two petitions on the same issue in different benches. The episode once again highlighted the DMK’s lack of coordination and administrative credibility — a government that can’t even manage its legal proceedings properly.
Thiruparangundram Verdict — Tradition Wins Over Politics:
Adding to the list of setbacks, Justice Vijay Kumar concurred with Justice Srimathi in banning animal sacrifice at the Sikandar Dargah, upholding the sanctity of Thiruparangundram Hill. The judgment reinforces the importance of respecting traditional and religious customs — something the DMK often dismisses in its pursuit of vote-bank politics.
For a party that never misses a chance to boast about “Dravidian justice,” today’s courtroom developments have been nothing short of poetic irony. The DMK government, which often tries to project moral superiority, was forced to face one embarrassment after another — from Delhi to Madurai — as the judiciary dismantled its narrative piece by piece.
Each of these rulings serves as a reminder that the judiciary still stands firm where the state has failed.
The DMK may command the bureaucracy, the police, and a compliant media ecosystem — but it cannot command the truth. Today, the courts did what the ruling party refuses to do: hold the corrupt, the complicit, and the cowardly to account.
The illusion of moral authority the DMK hides behind is crumbling fast — and no amount of spin can save it from the judgment of both the courts and the people.
