The French ambassador was responding to a tweet by president Emmanuel Macron, which informed about the arrival in Paris of the country’s first evacuation flight from the Afghan capital. “The first flight with French and foreign nationals has just arrived in Paris from Kabul via the United Arab Emirates. Once again, with courage and a sense of duty, our soldiers and diplomats are mobilising to protect people,”.
According to reports, when the Canadians left in hurry, they did not make any arrangement for the evacuation of one hundred Gurkhas who were protecting the embassy. However, after this embarrassing episode, the Gurkhas have now been evacuated from Kabul.
