A man from Kurumbalur village in Perambalur district hit on ancient idols when he was digging the land for building the foundation for the house.

Venkatesh (29) is the son of Ramasamy, a farmer from Kurumbalur village. He had started work on their land for building a house recently. Workers began digging for building the foundation of the house. When they dug to a depth of 6 feet, they found 6 idols of Hindu Gods about 1 foot high.

They were taken out of the pit and placed in a bund. Officials from the Revenue Department were informed who arrived at the spot and inspected the idols. The Archaeological Department has been informed about the idols.
