In Rasulpur village of Salon area in Rae Bareli district, Uttar Pradesh, police arrested Mukim on 6 February 2026 for allegedly concealing his identity, luring a Hindu woman with the promise of marriage, and sexually exploiting her for nearly two years.
According to the complaint, when the woman began insisting on marriage, Mukim’s family allegedly demanded that she eat beef as a condition for performing a nikah. The victim later discovered that Mukim was already married and had a child. Distressed by the revelation and the circumstances she had been subjected to, the woman reportedly attempted suicide.
The case is among 30 incidents documented in this report, which describes a recurring pattern in which accused men allegedly used Hindu-sounding names such as “Sonu,” “Deepak,” or “Ajay” on social media to befriend Hindu women. Once the women became emotionally involved and began pressing for marriage, the men’s real identities were revealed.
After their identities were exposed, victims were pressured to convert to Islam. Some women alleged that they were forced to offer namaz, observe fasting during Ramzan, and were made to consume beef against their wishes. Victims also claimed they were beaten or confined in rooms when they resisted.
In several cases, obscene videos were recorded and used for blackmail, and victims were allegedly threatened with practices such as halala.
Many victims were eventually able to approach the police with the assistance of Hindu organisations or after escaping on their own, following which cases were registered under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act and other serious charges including rape, leading to the arrest of the accused in multiple instances.
#1 Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh – 6 February 2026: Marriage Pressure with Condition of Consuming Beef, Hindu Woman Attempts Suicide. Accused: Mukeem
In Rasulpur village under Salon Kotwali area of Raebareli, police arrested Mukeem on 6 February 2026, for allegedly entrapping a Hindu woman through false promises of marriage, sexually exploiting her for two years, and forcing her to consume beef. The accused, already married with a child, had concealed his identity to trap the victim. The victim stated that Mukeem sexually assaulted her for two years. When she pressured him for marriage, the accused’s family insisted she consume beef as a condition for nikah. Later, the victim discovered Mukeem was already married with a child. Distraught by this revelation, she attempted suicide. Her father, residing in Delhi, was informed by relatives in time and filed a complaint with the police.
#2 Palghar, Maharashtra – 3 January 2026: Minor Held Hostage for Six Months, Forced to Convert and Consume Beef. Accused: Javed Khan
A 15-year-old minor Hindu girl attending tuition classes in Palghar district was allegedly abducted by Javed Khan after being trapped in a love affair. The accused held the girl hostage for six months, sexually exploited her, and pressured her to convert religions.
Javed abducted the minor in February 2025, took her to Madhya Pradesh, and kept her locked in a room where he raped her and made obscene videos. He forced her to consume beef and convert religions. Upon returning, the accused created a fake Instagram ID in the girl’s name, posted her obscene photos, and even circulated a rate card for her “night auctions.”
#3 Nuh, Haryana – 9 September 2025: Pressure to Wear Burqa, Offer Namaz, Join Tablighi Jamaat; Forced to Consume Meat. Accused: Aazam
A Muslim youth named Aazam from Nuh district allegedly trapped a married woman, already separated from her husband, in a love affair in 2020. He converted her religion, performed nikah, and renamed her Saiba. In her complaint on 9 September 2025, the victim, originally from Hamirpur district in Uttar Pradesh, stated that she met Aazam in Nuh in 2020. After winning her trust, Aazam took her and her children to Noida, Panipat, and Bhiwadi on rent. The accused pressured her to wear a burqa, offer namaz, attend Tablighi Jamaat gatherings, and forcibly made her consume meat.
#4 Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh – 13 July 2025: Hindu Girl Trapped, Converted; Forced to Eat Beef and Offer Namaz. Accused: Nazil, Aadil, and Qadir
Parul Kashyap, a Hindu woman from Indira Nagar in Lucknow, registered a case on 13 July 2025, against Muslim youth Nazil for religious conversion and sexual exploitation. The victim stated that her harassment began after befriending Nazil during high school days. Nazil made obscene videos and blackmailed her, forcibly performing nikah on 18 August 2020. For the nikah and conversion, the accused forced her to offer namaz and consume beef. On 21 January 2022, Parul gave birth to a daughter. It is alleged that Nazil tried to addict the daughter to alcohol and drugs and committed obscene acts with her. Additionally, Nazil’s brothers Aadil and Qadir attempted to rape the victim.
#5 Bhagalpur, Bihar – 9 September 2025: Three Years of Live-in Exploitation, Conversion Pressure; Victim Forced to Offer Namaz and Eat Beef. Accused: Seraj
Seraj, a Muslim youth from Bhagalpur, introduced himself as Sonu to trap a Hindu girl in a love affair. He lived with her in a live-in relationship for three years and raped her repeatedly. He pressured her to convert religions and marry him, and when she refused, threatened to cut her into 25 pieces and throw her in a drain. The accused made the victim offer namaz and forcibly fed her beef. On 14 June 2025, the victim told the women’s police station in her complaint that she befriended the accused in November 2023, who identified himself as Sonu. Within days, they began living together. On 9 May 2025, when the girl raised the matter of marriage, Seraj started beating her and threatened to cut her into pieces.
#6 Shravasti, Uttar Pradesh – 27 May 2025: Social Media Friendship, Blackmail, Forced Nikah; In-laws Pressured to Eat Beef and Have Illicit Relations. Accused: Taufeeq
Taufeeq, a youth from Vishunapur in Shravasti’s Ikauna police station area, allegedly trapped a Hindu girl from Nagpur through Instagram in February 2020. He established physical relations, made videos, converted her religion, and performed nikah.
After befriending her on social media, Taufeeq made objectionable videos and began blackmailing the victim, extorting lakhs of rupees along with years of sexual exploitation. In 2022, he first forcibly converted her and performed nikah, but absconded after she had a child. When the victim reached Taufeeq’s house, her in-laws pressured her to consume beef and establish relations with other men, while keeping her one-and-a-half-year-old child hungry.
#7 Durg, Chhattisgarh – 25 May 2025: Nine Years of Exploitation on False Marriage Promise; Forcibly Fed Beef Under Conversion Pressure. Accused: Badshah Khan
In Durg, Chhattisgarh, Muslim youth Badshah Khan trapped a Hindu woman in a love affair and continued raping her for nine years on the false promise of marriage. When the victim objected, the accused repeatedly beat her and forcibly fed her beef.
In her complaint on 25 May 2025, the victim stated that when she was a minor in 2016, a youth named Badshah Khan from Bhilai ensnared her and continued raping her. The accused forced her to recite the Kalma. Her two-and-a-half-year-old son was forcibly circumcised. After discovering Badshah Khan’s illicit relations with another girl, the victim filed a complaint.
#8 New Delhi – 30 May 2025: The Wire Journalist Accused of Exploiting Hindu Woman; Forcibly Fed Beef When She Objected. Accused: Omar Rashid
A Hindu woman accused The Wire journalist Umar Rashid of rape, sexual harassment, severe assault, and forcible religious imposition, sharing her ordeal through an Instagram post in New Delhi on 20 May 2025. The victim stated that Umar befriended her using his “liberal” and “progressive” image, then violently raped her. Despite her objections, she was brutally beaten and repeatedly forced to consume beef, citing her “non-Muslim” identity.
#9 Indore, Madhya Pradesh – 8 May 2025: Sanjay Khan Forced Hindu Woman to Accept Islam and Consume Beef. Accused: Sanjay Khan
A Hindu woman from Mhow in Indore district registered a case on 8 May 2025, against her Muslim husband and his relatives for love jihad and forced conversion. The victim stated that in 2014, Sanjay Khan first befriended her, calling her sister. Later, he drugged her cold drink and raped her. When she objected, he continued exploiting her by threatening to leak videos.
Sanjay Khan took her to a temple and staged a marriage, then kept her chained in Mandsaur. Later, Sanjay Khan and his relatives took her to Kota and forcibly performed nikah. When she objected, she was beaten and threatened with death. Taken to Bhiwani Mandi, she was forcibly converted to Islam and made to consume beef. The victim stated that in 2015, her son was forcibly given a Muslim name (Junaid) and circumcised. After her daughter (Zoya) was born in 2017, she was tortured and threatened with death along with her children.
#10 Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh – 5 May 2025: Javed Khan Became Ajay Yadav to Trap Woman, Married with Fake Aadhaar, Then Got Abortion and Fed Beef. Accused: Javed Khan
In Lucknow’s Jankipuram police station area, Javed Khan from Nazaripura, Bahraich, posing as Ajay Yadav, trapped a Hindu woman in a love affair and married her at Arya Samaj temple on 23 July 2022, sexually exploiting her thereafter. The accused claimed to be unmarried and of the victim’s caste, marrying her using a fake Aadhaar card. In September 2024, he deceitfully fed her abortion medication. The truth emerged when Javed’s wife Parveen answered the victim’s phone call. Subsequently, the accused pressured the victim to convert religions and consume beef, and when she objected, he, along with his wife, brothers-in-law (Irfan, Shaanu), and friends, beat her and threatened to kill her.
#11 Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh – 1 May 2025: Sameer Khan Posed as Hindu to Trap Woman; Pressure to Convert and Consume Beef. Accused: Sameer Khan
On 1 May 2025, a Hindu woman in Jabalpur’s Chhatarpur area filed a case against Sameer Khan, stating that the accused posed as Hindu to trap her in a love affair, married her, later forcibly performed nikah, and subjected her to physical and mental torture. After getting her divorce from her first husband and court marriage, the accused performed nikah on 3 November 2024.
The victim stated in her complaint that Sameer lied about his religion, participated in prayers, and gained her trust for marriage. Later, she was forcibly fed beef, isolated from family, and threatened. Based on the complaint, Chhatarpur police registered a case under the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act and other sections, arresting Sameer Khan.
#12 Muzaffarpur, Bihar – 21 April 2025: ‘Suraj’ Turned Out to be Shamshad; Pressure on Hindu Girl for Forced Nikah and Beef Consumption. Accused: Shamshad
In Muzaffarpur, Bihar, Muslim youth Shamshad, posing as Suraj, trapped a Hindu girl in a love affair and raped her. When the girl pressured for marriage, the youth forced her to accept Islam and consume beef, converting her religion and changing her name.
The victim stated in her complaint that she met Shamshad at a coaching institute in 2007. At that time, she did not know whether he was Hindu or Muslim. In 2017, the victim moved to Delhi for work, after which communication stopped. In 2023, the accused gave her juice containing sedatives at a hotel, then forcibly raped her and began continuous harassment.
#13 Lakhisarai, Bihar – 12 April 2025: Kamal Ashraf Married Woman as Sumit, Then Tortured Her for 14 Years. Accused: Ashraf
In Lakhisarai, Bihar, under Suryagarha police station, Muslim youth Ashraf, posing as Sumit, trapped a Hindu girl in a love affair and sexually exploited her. He converted her, performed nikah, and fed her beef, continuing torture for 14 years.
The victim filed a complaint on 12 April 2025, stating that in 2012, clerk Kamal Ashraf trapped her in a love affair when she was 16 and studying in the same school. When she became pregnant in 2014, he suggested abortion but later gave a marriage statement in court. The matter remained quiet for some time, but from 2021, the accused again began harassing her. On 20 February 2025, Ashraf came with three others and pressured the victim to establish physical relations with them. When she objected, she was beaten. Based on the complaint, Lakhisarai police registered a case against Ashraf under multiple sections.
#14 Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh – 4 April 2025: Hindu Woman Trapped in Love Affair; Pressure to Convert and Consume Beef. Accused: Shamsher Ansari alias Tiger
In Kushinagar’s Vishunpura police station area, Shamsher Ansari alias Tiger concealed his identity to trap a Hindu woman in a love affair, married her, and exploited her. Later, pressuring her to convert, he forcibly fed her beef. Approximately five years ago, in 2020, the accused, claiming to be Hindu, befriended the woman and married her. The truth emerged when the woman saw the accused’s Aadhaar card. Subsequently, the accused began torturing her, pressuring her to convert and forcibly feeding her beef. When she objected, she was brutally beaten.
#15 Basti, Uttar Pradesh – 29 March 2025: Ahmed Raza Trapped Woman as Driver; After Nikah, In-laws Pressured for Namaz, Roza, and Beef Consumption. Accused: Ahmed Raza
On 29 March 2025, a Hindu woman in Basti’s Walterganj police station area filed a case against her Muslim husband Ahmed Raza, stating that he first trapped her in a love affair, then married her and subjected her to physical and mental torture. Now, her husband is pressuring her to convert and consume beef.
Accused Ahmed Raza initially worked as a driver at her house. In February 2024, he raped her at knifepoint and later, promising marriage, abducted her. The woman had also taken gold jewelry and cash with her. After nikah, her in-laws forced her to offer namaz, observe roza, and consume beef. When she refused, she was beaten. Ahmed also got her abortions three times and sold all jewelry, giving the money to his family.
#16 Deoria, Uttar Pradesh – 27 January 2025: Wajim Ali Became Rintu Singh to Befriend Woman; Held Hostage, Forced Beef Consumption, Blackmailed with Obscene Videos. Accused: Wajim Ali
In Deoria’s Tarkulwa police station area, Muslim youth Wajim Ali, posing as Rintu Singh, trapped a Hindu woman in a love affair and raped her. On 10 October 2023, with help from a cleric and eight others, he forcibly performed nikah in Kushinagar. On 9 December 2024, the victim stated in her complaint that after forced nikah, the accused kept her hostage at home, forced her to consume beef, made obscene videos, and began blackmailing her. Later, the victim discovered Wajim was already married with two children, after which she managed to escape. Based on the complaint, Tarkulwa police registered a case against Wajim and eight family members.
#17 Damoh, Madhya Pradesh – 28 November 2025: Qasim Kasai Concealed Identity to Marry; Pressure to Convert and Consume Beef. Accused: Qasim Kasai
In Damoh’s Dehat police station area, Qasim Kasai concealed his identity to trap a Hindu girl through social media in a love affair and forcibly performed nikah. He forced the victim to consume beef, pressured her to convert, and threatened acid attacks.
The victim stated in her complaint that in 2020, Qasim Kasai from Noori Nagar, Damoh, took her to Jabalpur, where he performed nikah according to Muslim customs, leaving the girl stunned. When the truth emerged, the accused beat her multiple times.
#18 Guwahati, Assam – 8 November 2025: At Age 16, Muslim Boyfriend and His Family Forcibly Fed Beef and Tortured. Accused: Muslim Youth (Name Not Disclosed)
Rinima Bora, winner of Mrs. India Galaxy 2024 from Guwahati, revealed during a podcast on 8 November 2024, that at the age of 16 in Bengaluru, her former Muslim boyfriend and his family tortured her and forcibly fed her beef. According to Rinima, her former boyfriend had changed her name to Ayesha Hussain and forced her to offer namaz. The accused would beat her severely and threaten acid attacks if she ended the relationship. Rinima Bora shared this painful experience, stating she has been struggling with this trauma for the past 16 years.
#19 Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh – 28 September 2025: Hindu Woman Trapped in Love Affair, Forced Nikah, Three Abortions, and Then Halala. Accused: Salman
In Lucknow, Muslim youth Salman, introducing himself as Rajesh, trapped a Hindu girl named Soni in a love affair and raped her. When she became pregnant, the accused got her abortion done. Subsequently, he forcibly performed nikah, then divorced her and had a cleric perform halala. The victim stated she resides in Lucknow’s Khurram Nagar. In 2016, she met a youth named Salman, who introduced himself as Rakesh. Salman established relations, leading to pregnancy. Salman then gave her medicine to abort three times. When she refused a fourth abortion, Salman forcibly married her. The victim also stated that Salman and his sister forcibly fed her meat and beat her. Soni has three children: Ali (5 years), Ayaan (3 years), and Chahat (newborn). Salman threw her out of the house and took the children from her.
#20 Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh – 6 June 2024: Concealed Identity to Establish Relations, Forced Nikah at Dargah, Pressure to Convert and Consume Beef. Accused: Mohammad Arif
In Bareilly, Muslim youth Mohammad Arif concealed his identity to trap a Hindu girl in a love affair and raped her. The accused took her to a dargah, where he forcibly performed nikah and converted her religion by feeding her beef. When the woman became pregnant, the accused forcibly aborted her pregnancy. The victim also stated that the accused’s brother forcibly established physical relations with her. Subsequently, the victim was beaten and thrown out of the house.
#21 Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh – 26 April 2024: Woman Trapped in Love Affair, Exploited, Pressured to Convert. Accused: Sabir Khan
In Gwalior, a 27-year-old Hindu woman was first trapped in a love affair by a youth named Sabir Khan, who then threatened and sexually exploited her. The victim was beaten, pressured to convert religions, and even forcibly fed beef.
When the woman refused to communicate with him, the accused began threatening suicide and mentioned writing her parents’ names in a suicide note. He also threatened to kill her. On 26 April 2024, Bahodapur police registered a rape case against accused Sabir Khan. Additionally, an FIR was registered against his father Yusuf Khan and brother Sameer Khan under assault and other sections.
#22 Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra – 17 April 2024: Taher Pathan Concealed Identity to Establish Relations; Forced to Wear Burqa and Consume Beef. Accused: Taher Pathan, Tayyab Pathan, Ayesha Pathan, and Lailabi Pathan
Satara police registered a case against Taher Pathan, Tayyab Pathan, Ayesha Pathan, and Lailabi Pathan for allegedly deliberately trapping a 27-year-old Hindu girl, converting her to Islam, and exploiting her for four years in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. The main accused, Taher Pathan, befriended the woman as a Hindu and established physical relations with her. The accused forced the Hindu woman to wear a burqa and consume beef, converting her religion to Islam.
#23 Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh – 28 December 2023: Danish Showed Fake Photos of Bungalows and Cars to Trap Minor; Held Hostage, Raped, Forced Beef Consumption, Attempted Nikah. Accused: Danish, son of Gulfam
In Kanpur’s Chakheri police station area, Danish, son of Gulfam, used Instagram to display fake affluence and trap a 14-year-old minor Hindu girl. On October 22, 2023, he abducted her and held her hostage in his Macoopurva slum dwelling. Danish would send fake photos of bungalows and cars on Instagram, portraying himself as wealthy, while actually living in a one-room slum. He held the minor hostage for two months and repeatedly raped her while covering her mouth, even in the presence of family members. During this period, the victim was forcibly fed prohibited meat (beef), forced to offer namaz, and an attempt was made to forcibly perform nikah with her on 30 December 2023.
#24 Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh – 4 December 2023: Shoaib Trapped Dalit Woman in Friendship, Held Hostage, Exploited for Months. Accused: Shoaib, Najma Khan, Aakib, Reshma, Mehraj
In Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, a Muslim man named Shoaib allegedly converted a Dalit Hindu girl after trapping her in a friendship. It is alleged that the victim was forcibly fed beef and sexually exploited. The victim’s father stated in his complaint that on 17 June 2023, Shoaib from Firozabad district lured away his 18-year-old daughter from Sonipat. On 3 December 2023, after escaping his clutches, the victim told family members that she was forcibly converted to Islam, fed beef, and sexually exploited. Based on the victim’s complaint, police registered a case against Shoaib, Najma Khan, Aakib, Reshma, Mehraj, and five unknown persons.
#25 Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh – 1 October 2023: Merchant Navy Employee Ahmed Sharif Married Hindu Woman as ‘Ajay Singh’; In-laws Pressured for Beef Consumption and Conversion. Accused: Ahmed Sharif
A Hindu woman from Ramganj Pakka Talab in Fatehpur was trapped by Ahmed Sharif, employed in the Merchant Navy, who concealed his identity as ‘Ajay Singh’ and married her in 2018.
Accused Ahmed contacted the woman via phone and, claiming to be Hindu, married her, after which they lived in Aligarh. Around May 2023, the accused brought her to his home in Fatehpur and himself went to Malaysia. After his departure, in-laws tortured the victim, forcibly trying to feed her beef and pressuring her to convert religions. When she refused, she was thrown out of the house, after which she sat outside without food or water for 12 hours.
#26 Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh – 9 September 2023: Dalit Woman Trapped in Love Affair; Forced to Consume Beef, Undergo Halala, and Abortions. Accused: Dawood Ibrahim, son of Wajid Ali
In Akbarpur, Ambedkar Nagar, a Dalit Hindu woman, Aashia Bharti, filed a complaint on 9 September 2024, against Dawood Ibrahim, son of Muslim Wajid Ali. Dawood, posing as ‘Rahul Gupta,’ trapped her in a love affair, committed fraud, and forcibly converted her. The victim stated that in 2021, the accused concealed his identity and befriended her, causing her previous marriage to break. Dawood took her to Surat and staged a marriage according to Hindu rituals. When the truth emerged, Dawood and his family pressured the victim to accept Islam, offer namaz, undergo halala, and consume beef. The victim was forced into three abortions, and when she objected on September 1, she was beaten and thrown out of the house.
#27 Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh – 7 September 2023: Hindu Girl Trapped in Love Affair, Gang-Raped; Blackmailed with Video, Demanded Rs 5 Lakh. Accused: Shoaib and Nai
In Bareilly district, Shoaib and Nai, through a Muslim girl, allegedly trapped Hindu boys in love affairs and gang-raped a Hindu girl. They made videos of the act, drugged her, and forcibly fed her beef. Harassed by blackmail, the victim filed a police complaint. The victim stated that the accused made videos of this heinous act, blackmailed her, and demanded Rs 5 lakh. Later, they sent the video to the victim’s fiance.
#28 Lakhimpur, Assam – 24 July 2023: Concealed Identity to Marry; Gulzar Ahmed Tortured Hindu Woman for Conversion. Accused: Gulzar Ahmed
Gulzar Ahmed, a resident of Raunapur in Lakhimpur district, Assam, claimed to be Hindu in 2016 to trap a Hindu woman in a love affair, abducted her, and married her. Subsequently, the victim faced severe torture for seven years. After marriage, upon reaching her in-laws’ house, the victim discovered that the accused was already married and father of three children. The accused and his family forced the victim to consume beef. When she refused, the day after Eid, she was brutally beaten with plastic pipes and helmets.
#29 Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh – 20 July 2023: Posing as ‘Deepak,’ Established Relations with Hindu Woman; Took to Mosque, Tried to Feed Beef and Convert. Accused: Khalid Chaudhary
In Ghaziabad, Khalid Chaudhary, posing as ‘Deepak,’ befriended a Hindu woman through Facebook. Subsequently, he trapped her in a love affair and established physical relations. When Khalid’s truth emerged, he took the woman to a mosque, where he tried to convert her religion by feeding her beef. The victim stated that in 2020, she received a friend request from a Facebook ID named ‘Deepak.’ After accepting the request, the youth began constantly messaging her and conversations started. Khalid claimed to be a big journalist. When the victim refused to convert, Khalid Chaudhary said he traps Hindu girls like this at the behest of his handlers.
#30 Jamia Nagar, Delhi – 13 January 2023: Abu Hasan Zaidy Posed as ‘Aditya Singh’ to Trap Hindu Woman; Forced Beef Consumption, Roza Observance, and Fake Nikah. Accused: Abu Hasan Zaidy
Jamia Nagar police in Delhi registered a case on January 13, 2023, against Abu Hasan Zaidy, a resident of Mustafabad, for rape, fraud, and forced religious conversion. It is alleged that in 2013, posing as ‘Aditya Singh,’ he trapped a Hindu woman in a love affair. The accused concealed his real identity and began living in a live-in relationship with the victim. The victim stated that during this period, she was forcibly fed beef, made to cook meat, and observe roza. When the victim pressured for marriage, she was severely beaten, and in October 2020, a fake nikah was staged in Amroha. When the victim mentioned the Shraddha murder case, the accused threatened her with a fate worse than Shraddha’s.
