Exposing US Rep Pramila Jayapal’s Anti-India Agenda

US Congress Representative Pramila Jayapal has written a letter to President Joe Biden garnering support from over 70 US politicians, to express concerns about “human rights” in India during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States.

In her letter to President Biden criticizing the Indian government, she relies on the dubious Democracy Index, Press Freedom Index, and the USCIRF Report to support her tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

However, a detailed investigative thread by DisInfo Lab has raised eyebrows about Pramila Jayapal’s letter peddling anti-India rhetoric. It is alleged that Pramila Jayapal’s ulterior motive may not be just “human rights” but purely financial gain. Previously, she expressed similar concerns about the situation in Kashmir in 2019. She poked her nose in India’s internal matters like the abrogation of Article 370 and the National Register for Citizens (NRC).

Coincidentally, during that time, the Pakistani government hired the US-based lobbying firm Holland & Knight. According to their own documents, Jayapal was one of the individuals approached by Holland & Knight.

Between August and December 2019, Jayapal spoke extensively about Kashmir, including writing a letter to the US Congress and supporting a resolution on the matter in December 2019. Interestingly, her focus on “human rights” in Kashmir abruptly ended in January 2020, coinciding with the conclusion of Holland & Knight’s contract with Pakistan. Since 2019, Jayapal has not tweeted about Kashmir.

There might be a lack of awareness among certain Indians regarding the intricacies of lobbying in the United States, as well as the limited scope of knowledge that US politicians sometimes possess beyond their own borders. There are dedicated firms in the US that are hired by vested political interests to peddle their agenda.

Jayapal’s connections with Islamists run deeper. She received approximately $20,000 in political campaign funding between 2014 and 2018 from the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), an organization associated with the Muslim Brotherhood and implicated in a 2007 terror-funding case in the US.

In February 2023, Jayapal also expressed concern about the caste issue and supported Seattle’s “Anti-Caste Legislation”, which is backed by the Soros-funded organization Equality Labs.

Interestingly, between 2018 and 2022, Jayapal received $19,900 from Soros Fund Management.

Notably, Jayapal’s letter has been used as a tool by Jamaat-related Islamist groups like the Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC), Hindus For Human Rights (HfHR), and the Polis Project.

HfHR was established in 2019 by two Islamist advocacy groups known as the Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) and the Organization for Minorities of India (OFMI). It is worth recalling that Sunita Vishwanath, co-founder of “Hindus for Human Rights,” was seated alongside Rahul Gandhi during his recent visit to the US.

The Polis Project is an organization that consistently advocates for the separation of Kashmir from India. They consistently refer to Kashmir as “Indian-administered” and label India as a “settler-colonialist” entity.

Furthermore, The Polis Project has extensively disseminated content alleging that Muslims in India are subjected to severe atrocities.
