Exasperating farrago of distortions: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor does a gaffe, tweets old picture to take a dig at Atmanirbhar Bharat

Thiruvananthapuram Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on June 11 tweeted a picture where 2 women, 1 of them holding drips to a child and the other helping the child relieve can be seen. He tweeted with the caption in Hindi that roughly translates to “We have great strength/mastery/desire to fight every disaster. This is Atmanirbhar Bharat. This is Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

Apparently the picture was taken by one Mr. Amitesh in 2017 during UP Assembly elections who is later said to have posted it in Instagram in 2019.

The former Under-Secretary General to United Nations hasn’t taken down the tweet despite his Parliamentary colleague Rajeev Chandresekhar pointing out the gaffe.
