EPS lashes out DMK for failing to fulfil promises

“505 announcements were made in the DMK election manifesto. They have not been been fulfilled.”, Leader of Opposition Edappadi K Palaniswami said during a press meet as the AIADMK held a state wide protest against the DMK’s anti-people policies.

He said that the only thing DMK has succeeded in is making false promises. As fuel prices have breached the He also reminded skyrocketing – petrol at Rs 102.49 and diesel at Rs 94.39, he reminded DMK of the promise of reducing the cost of petrol by 5 and diesel by 4.

He expressed concern that with the formation of the DMK regime the NEET exam will not be canceled and the reimplementation of lottery business in Tamil Nadu. The lottery ticket sales was banned in Tamil Nadu in 2003 by  former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, after a lot of people committed suicides.

Palaniswami also accused the DMK government of taking action against former ministers with political malice. He then pointed out that the electricity tariff system calculations in TN were a mess. 

“What happened to the promise that the electricity bill would be calculated and charged once a month? At present it is not even known how the electricity bill is calculated!” he said.

The AIADMK also carried out a social media campaign against the DMK government with the hashtag #திமுக_சொன்னீங்களே_செஞ்சீங்களா (DMK, you promised but did you do it?).
