Once more, the contentious DMK member Sivaji Krishnamurthy is embroiled in controversy due to his inflammatory and hate-driven speech during a recent DMK meeting, which has gained widespread attention on social media. Despite facing significant backlash, including criticism from social media, political parties, and commentators, and having been suspended and later reinstated in the DMK party several times, he appears unapologetic. Without expressing any remorse, he has resumed delivering speeches laden with offensive language especially directed at opposition figures.
This time, Sivaji Krishnamurthy’s focus was on figures from the BJP, including VP Duraisamy, Nainar Nagendran, Pon Radhakrishnan, H Raja, PM Narendra Modi, and former ADMK minister Jayakumar. In a previous effort to calm the situation, Dravidian media on YouTube sought to portray Krishnamurthy as a hero through slow-motion videos, impactful dialogues, and solemn background music. However, in a new tactic, instead of condemning derogatory language, these media outlets chose to add beep sounds in some instances and mute certain parts to convey their disapproval.
Sivaji Krishnamurthy, began his speech regarding the BJP by expressing, “There is a person called VP Duraisamy, we welcomed him here with garland at Arivalayam and gave him sit a General Secretary post, but he goes there (to BJP), stands and says, Sir Sir to Annamalai, begging for a chance to speak. He goes to Karunagarajan and says, Sir, can I speak? He also goes away saying “poda *Beep*(mayire)”, VP Duraisamy is an example of what will happen if you leave the place where you have respect and go to the place where you have no respect, you will be beaten to death with chappals.”
Krishnamurthy questions the authenticity within the BJP, questioning who among them is genuinely original. He asserts that Nainar Nagendran was allegedly acquired from the AIADMK. If we ask they are saying “In assembly you said BJP cant enter, four members have entered” Following this statement, he promptly exclaimed, “Poda Porambokku,” and justified the entry by asserting that it happened because they sought the support of Kalaignar in 2011.
Swiftly rationalizing dynastic politics, he explained the defeat of Pon Radhakrishnan in Kanyakumari, losing the election to Vasantha Kumar and his son. Regarding this, he remarked, “He received slipper shots from both father and son.” In the context of H Raja, he abuses him with the Tamil word, “Echakalai“. H Raja contested against the father-son duo Chidambaram and Karthik Chidambaram, he again used the same expression, stating, “He experienced slipper shots from both father and son.”
While speaking about PM Narendra Modi’s administration he said, “Our Modiji is there, in 21 states we have plucked administration and planted hairs, Amit shaji is there” He fabricated a false narrative, suggesting that if Vajpayee were not the prime minister, Amit Shah would have been confined to the position of Gujarat’s minister. He claimed that Vajpayee explicitly ordered the removal of Amit Shah from his Gujarat post after Muslims were burnt in a train, and it was Advani who protected him. Later went on saying as the Chief Minister, he bowed at the feet of Advani, and later, during his nomination for the PM position in Delhi, he sought Advani’s support by holding his hands. However, after winning, he distanced himself from Advani, likening the situation to a character “Amavasai” in a Satyaraj movie. He went on to label the Prime Minister as a “thief and traitor.”
He is illustrating with an example involving ADMK, stating, “ADMK stands as the epitome of infidelity. MGR betrayed Kalaingar, Jayalalithaa betrayed MGR, Sasikala betrayed Jayalalithaa, and EPS & OPS betrayed Sasikala. Therefore, ADMK symbolizes the epitome of betrayal.” Drawing a parallel, he compares it to Modi betraying Advani, asserting that Modi came with the intention to destroy India and calling him a scoundrel.
While addressing the issue, he endorsed the action of Stalin taking his wife along on a foreign trip. Krishnamurthy questioned whether it was inappropriate, stating that Stalin only took his own wife and not another man’s wife or an item (prostitute), emphasizing that such an action would be deemed wrong.
While conversing with Jayakumar, Krishnamurthy used offensive language like “Lavade Kabal,” “Baadu,” and “Pottai,” leveling numerous accusations against the ex-minister. Allegedly, Krishnamurthy claimed that a girl named Sindhu, who sought employment from Jayakumar, was made pregnant. Additionally, he asserted that in Palaverkaadu, Jayakumar is maintaining another girl named Sumithra, who has become a two-time councilor. Furthermore, he completed the narrative by stating that in Royapuram, a woman named Nagamma he concluded the matter under the guise of securing her councilor seat.
