Video of a DMK cadre arguing with a female police inspector near Tiruppur has gone viral on social media.
Police conducting a vehicle search in the Pongalur area near Palladam in Tirupur district stopped and checked a car belonging to Ravi, a member of the Pongalur East DMK. Ravi, who was allegedly drunk at the time, was enraged by the vehicle search and was having a heated argument with Avinashipalayam Inspector Gomati.
He threatened Inspector Gomati saying, “I am the next union secretary of DMK. Register a case if you can. I will take care of the case.” His dhoti slipped off while he was speaking, and he was whisked away by his mates. No one in the car, including Ravi, was found wearing a face mask.
The video has gone viral on social media. Palladam DSP Sriramachandran said, “We are looking into it right now. Action would be done fairly and impartially,” when questioned about the incident.
