Days after various independent YouTube channels and news portals brought out the connection between director Ameer Sultan and druglord Jaffer Sadiq, Ameer gave an interview to a YouTube channel named The Debate to “clear the air”.

Flashing his victim card, claiming his daughter was harassed at work, he narrated a story from Srimad Bhagavatam where he compared himself to Lord Krishna. He claimed he was a man of honesty and determination and that people were hell-bent on destroying him. He questioned why he had to prove himself over and over again for a bomb blast or Corona. He said, “Is it my job to prove that I am honest? Is this why I was born? You sinners, you asked Sita to immolate herself, will you not tell me to do it? Aren’t you those who follow that ideology? If this is the situation for Sita, then what is the situation for Ameer?”
Then he started narrating a story of Lord Krishna. He said, “Let me tell you another thing. There is a book called Srimad Bhagavatam that narrates the story of the life of Lord Krishna. There is a story in that book. There was a king called Satrajita, he had a gem called Syamataka Mani/Syamantaka gem. The gem had such a power that whoever owned it would be wealthy, there would be no drought. Anyone who owns the gem can attract wealth but it can only be used for public good, not for personal use. This is the glory of the Syamantaka gem. But what King Satrajita does is he uses the gem to live a better life. At this time, his son Prasena steals it from him. Now the blame for the theft, who do you think it fell on? Lord Krishna. Who, the one who is worshipped as a God, is blamed for the theft of the Syamantaka gem. The whole town blames him for it.”
He continues, “Lord Krishna bears the burden of the blame and goes to a forest. He goes with the title of a thief to the forest. There, he meets Jambavan, the king of all bears. What Jambavan does is, attracted by the shine and splendour of the gem in the hands of Prasena, defeats Prasena, kills him, and takes the gem. Now when Lord Krishna meets Jambavan, he sees him having the gem. He asks, oh this is the Syamataka gem, how did you get it? They blamed me for stealing this and I have come here to the forest. Jambavan says if you want me to return this gem, you must marry my daughter. A wedding is conducted, Lord Krishna brings back the gem, returns it to the king, and proves himself innocent. This is in Srimad Bhagawatam. This is not my own story or opinion. When he hands over the gem, Lord Krishna says to Satrajita that Prasena stole it because Satrajita used it wrongly for his own benefit. This is God’s plan and you must use it for public benefit only. Even Sita was blamed, you think a blame has fallen on me that is greater than that of Lord Krishna? Let it come, we will see.”
The story narrated by Ameer has certain inaccuracies, we are not delving into those for the moment. But the fact that he compared himself with Lord Krishna and Ma Sita was what irked the public.
Netizens reacted humourously to this claim. Some corrected the story he narrated while others called Ameer out for his apparent victim card showcase, while others pointed out that he could not compare himself to God’s messenger because it will be fatal for him.

Ameer should stop giving interviews instead of dragging himself further down the drain. https://t.co/tPaTc6gtwQ
