Dravidian Model Fascism: BJP TN Functionary Kannan Arrested For Remarks Against Chief Minister Stalin At Budget Explanation Meeting

Kannan, a state general committee member of Tamil Nadu BJP, was arrested by the ruling DMK government for allegedly criticizing the government and making remarks on Chief Minister MK Stalin.

The arrest follows the BJP’s efforts to counter the DMK’s propaganda against the recently passed Union Budget 2025. On the evening of 13th February, the BJP hosted a meeting to discuss the budget’s benefits at MKB Nagar in Perambur Assembly Constituency. The event was attended by figures such as Karate Thiagarajan and lawyer Paul Kanagaraj, with District President Balaji chairing the session. During the meeting, Kannan, a lawyer, is said to have sharply criticized the Tamil Nadu government and Chief Minister Stalin.

Following the incident, the MKB Nagar police registered a case, and a special team led by Pulianthope Deputy Commissioner Muthukumar tracked Kannan, arrested him and later remanded in custody after being produced in court.
