The BJP Tamil Nadu on 26 September 2022 held a massive protest in Coimbatore against the DMK government in light of DMK MP A. Raja’s anti-Hindu remarks and the arrest of BJP Tamil Nadu cadres.
The protest was spearheaded by BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai with many senior leaders of the party includidng BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan, ex-MP CP Radhakrishnan, and others participating.
Hindu Munnani head Kadeswara Subramaniam too participated in the protest.
Speaking at the event, BJP leader Annamalai came down heavy on the DMK for arresting BJP Coimbatore District President Balaji Uthamarasamy who had lashed out at A. Raja for saying all Shudras are children of prostitutes and they will remain so until they remain in Hinduism. The DMK Deputy General Secretary and Nilgirs MP resorted to defending his stance at another event by quoting from the book “Thanthai Periyar’s Irudhi Perurai (“Marana Sasanam”), which is a compilation of the last speeches of E.V. Ramasamy Naicker.
The BJP Tamil Nadu chief quoted from the very same book of EVR that A. Raja took refuge, to slam the DMK.
“I am dutybound to ask only one thing to DMK MP A. Raja. You defended your entire speech saying that it was told by ‘Thanthai Periyar’ in his book ‘Thanthai Periyar’s Irudhi Perurai (Marana Sasanam). From the very same book, I would like to read a few sentences from page 21 for brother A. Raja. He has to tell if he accepts them. Let me read what Periyar has said.”, Annamalai started quoting from the book with the same voice modulation of EVR.
“There is nobody, there is nobody to tell, there is nobody to think, what all are they (DMK) giving for a vote! He is giving away everything except his wife. For getting votes, he is not worried about this. Who? I am talking about the Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) folks only. Others would swear at me if I tell this. What is the necessity for DMK guys to do this? Why are they doing all these things? For him, votes are ultimate. He is not bothered about his wife or children. He believes that this will become the norm in a few days – to sell one’s wife and act in the interest of those who buy her – as power is important.” Annamalai quoted lines from EVR’s book and added “I will say the same thing what you said – I didn’t say this, Periyar only did”.
Annamalai said that Raja should respond to these accusations of EVR as well.
“No one can describe as badly as this. The man whom you consider the root and vein of your movement has clearly shown a picture how this movement (DMK) functions. He (EVR) himself has said ‘He (DMK) is not worried about his wife or children and would sell even his wife for votes’. I am again registering this, I am not saying this, Thanthai Periyar did.”, Annamalai said to a rapturous audience.
DMK will exchange their wives for votes. Because, power is more important than anything else in their life.
