The DMK IT Wing has shared a tongue-in-cheek Instagram Reel appearing to take a swipe at Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s reported London visit, using a popular comedy sequence from the Rajinikanth-starrer Chandramukhi to draw an insinuating parallel involving actress Trisha Krishnan.
The reel uses the iconic carrom-board comedy scene featuring Rajinikanth as Dr Saravanan and Vadivelu as Murugesan. In the scene, Rajinikanth is playing carrom and sees two carrom pieces move one after another and remarks that the red piece is moving ahead while the black piece follows behind, before concluding that something is “not right.”
In the background, we see Vadivelu following the lady in the red saree.

The joke has a familiar double entendre in Tamil cinema, with the movement of the two carrom pieces being presented in a manner that is also a suggestive reference to two people following one another, in the film alleging Vadivelu has a fling with the lady in the red saree, the maid.
The DMK IT Wing appears to have repurposed that joke to comment on recent social-media speculation surrounding Trisha and Vijay.

Photos/video of Trisha from London had recently surfaced online, prompting speculation on social media about her presence in the UK. Vijay, meanwhile, is still in India and is reportedly scheduled to travel to the UK later, with his visit being linked to meetings with potential investors. The timing has nevertheless provided material for social-media speculation about the two actors.

Against this backdrop, the DMK IT Wing’s Reel places the Chandramukhi exchange over the London-related chatter. The red and black carrom pieces effectively become a visual stand-in for two people moving one after another, allowing the Reel to make the insinuation without directly naming or stating it.
The DMK IT Wing, however, did not add a political explanation to the Reel. Instead, it captioned the post: “Watch Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Chandramukhi, Tamil cinema’s first ₹50 crore club blockbuster, now on Sun NXT!”
The caption ostensibly promotes the availability of Chandramukhi on Sun NXT. But the choice of the particular comedy sequence, coupled with its placement amid the ongoing online chatter around Trisha’s presence in London and Vijay’s reported UK visit, gives the post its tongue-in-cheek political and personal insinuation.
