DMK Fin Min PTR cyber-bullies and goes on an abusive rant, harasses woman for questioning him

In yet another incident of DMK Minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan indulging in cyber-bullying, the Minister unleashed abuses on persons who had questioned about him abstaining from the recently concluded GST Council meeting.

The 45th Meeting of the GST Council took place at Lucknow on Friday (September 17). This was the first in-person meeting of the GST Council since March 2020 when the 39th GST Council meeting happened. The subsequent meeting happened virtually due to the nationwide lockdown in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, Tamil Nadu Finance Minister had skipped this meeting to attend a baby shower ceremony and other functions.  He said that they were informed of the mandatory physical meeting a week before and that he could not cancel his plans.

As the matter came to light, Palanivel Thiagarajan became the butt of all jokes and memes with the hashtag  #வளைகாப்பு_PTR and #வளைகாப்பு_ராஜன் trending on Twitter.

Reacting to the issue, Palanivel Thiagarajan started spewing abuses on journalists, opposition politicians as well as common netizens who had questioned him.

He kept making ‘cow urine’ barbs which is usually done by rabid Hindumisic elements to insult those who worship cows.

Responding to a woman cadre of the BJP who had asked him if he really skipped the GST Council meeting to attend baby shower function of his sister-in-law, Palanivel Thiagarajan cyber-bullied her and called her a person ‘whose brain has been spoilt by drinking cow urine’.

Responding to a netizen, Palanivel Thiagarajan called the person a ‘dolt’ and a person with ‘unwarranted-privilege-hardened skull’.

This is not the first time the DMK Minister has been behaving like an online troll and cyber-bullying those who disagree with him or his party. Just days before, he stooped to a new low unbecoming of the position he holds by making disgusting remarks while engaging with a netizen online.

The MIT-educated Finance Minister of Tamil Nadu belonging to an illustrious family of politicians said “Dude… I crap bigger than you.” and went on to call the netizen a ‘scum’, ‘cultist’ and ‘minion’ who had taken a jibe at the collapse of Lehmann Brothers where Palanivel Thiagarajan worked.

He has also made a number of contentious statements against different public personalities.

He engaged in a public spat with Goa Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho. He had unleashed abuses and made personal attacks on Coimbatore South BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan who had called out the former for insulting Goa during the 43rd GST Council meeting. Before that, he had picked fight with Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev over the latter’s demand for freeing temples from state control. This had led to spat with two other public personalities namely former Infosys director Mohandas Pai and The Hindu’s Malini Parthasarathy.
