DMK Cadres’ Biryani Obsession: Tiruvallur Membership Meeting Disrupted Over Missing Chicken Pieces

The obsession with chicken biryani among DMK cadres seems unending. Recently, at a DMK General Membership Meeting held in Tiruvallur, a DMK member launched into a heated argument and used harsh language against the suppliers and the function managers for biryani served without ‘piece’.

The incident happened in Tiruvallur, and the meeting was organized by East District DMK Gummidipoondi at a private hall in Thachur. T. J. Govindrajan, the Gummidipoondi MLA and Tiruvallur East District DMK Secretary, chaired the session, which was attended by several district councillors and chairpersons. R. S. Bharathi, the DMK’s organizing secretary, was the chief guest.

However, following the event, DMK union representative and cooperative credit union manager Yuvraj entered into a fight that the biryani served lacked chicken pieces. The words quickly escalated into a heated confrontation, with inappropriate language exchanged and physical pushing occurring among those involved.

This criticism is backed by a history of disputes involving DMK functionaries and cadres over missing chicken pieces in their biryani. Here is a list of such incidents:
