Dharumai Adheenam Commends PM Modi’s Efforts In Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Consecration

As the country celebrates the auspicious occasion of the Pran Prathista, the inauguration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on 22 January 2024, the present leader of Dharumai Atheenam, the 27th guru Shreelashree Kayilai Masilamani Desiga Gnyana Sambandha Paramachari Swamigal, has commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his dedicated efforts. He further elucidated the process of Pran Prathista, emphasizing that it is being carried out by the principles outlined in the Sasthras.

Dharumai Atheenam (Dharumapuram Atheenam) stands as one of the Saiva monastic institutions situated in Mayiladuthurai, Tamil Nadu. From 1987, it oversaw the administration of approximately 27 temples. The establishment of this Mutt can be traced back to its initiation by Guru Gnana Sambandhar in the 16th century.

In a brief 6-minute clip shared on X handle Gnyana Sambandha Paramachari Swamigal thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts in the construction of the historic Ram Temple and for bringing long-cherished dream became a reality.

He said, “Through Prime Minister of India, Modi, the day our dream is realized is January 22, 2024. In our nation, Bharat, a very ancient avatar, Rama, was born in Ayodhya with Archaeological Department findings and through a court order our Indian PM has facilitated smoothly, such that it can be placed among world historical icons – the Ram temple – has been constructed, and on 22 January 2024, Pran Prathistha is going to happen.”

He explained the process of Pran Prathistha, Maha Kumbabhisekham, and Naadi Santhanam. The term Pran Prathistha is used for new installations, as in the case of the Ram Temple. Same like the process of Kala Darshanam symbolising the breath of life being given to the idol through a method Naadi Santhanam emphasising that it is being carried out per the principles outlined in the Sasthras.

He further added “Because it is being done new it is called ‘Pran Prathista’. In other temples, this is done every 12 years and it is called Jeernodharana Ashtabandhana Maha Kumbabisekham (Consecration ceremony). If there is any accident in the temple and to repair it there are many types of consecration ceremonies. As it is new and the vigraha (idol) is also new and established there it is named Pran Prathistha. “In ours too they call it as ‘Naadi Sandhanam’ in temples, from inside the Moola Moorthi (main deity) is brought to Yaga salai (ceremonial pit pyre) which is said Kala Darshanam… Again from here when they sent back, with Darbai grass rope) in the method of Naadi santhanam, they give breath to the deity”. In the same way in north India, they are calling it Pran Prathistha.”

This monumental event has rejuvenated the construction of the grand temple, witnessing the gathering of lakhs of people, and has garnered international attention, showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage. He said “This is a 500-600 years history is been again replenishing way with help of archeological department findings the court has declared its verdict for us with that prime minister Modi truthfully for a week visited many temples – Srirangam, Rameshwaram, Tirupati, etc and in the north too, he worshipped, went on a fast, and did the work. This action is due to greater penance, for this, he should have done punya.”

By quoting verses of the Tamil song, “புல்லினால் வருடம் கோடி புதுமணலால்,” shared the sentiments are echoed, emphasizing the cultural and historical significance of the momentous occasion.

Pullinal Varudam Kodi Pudhumanalal pathu kodi

Selumam Nyalam thanil sengalale nooru kodi

Alliyangodhai pagan alayangal madalayngal

Kallinal etrinoar kayilai vitagalarendre” says a special song

“With granite having raised a huge temple, lakhs of people gathered there with the nature of a real Indian nation, the world has realised it, around the world, people are coming towards Bharat. Rama, a character from has been showcased beautifully through Kamba Ramayana. His administration – done through his Paduka was a pride to the nation compared to the one where he was the ruler. Such a good administration that even considered every citizen’s complaint – this is explained beautifully in Kamba Ramayana,” he further added.

Furthermore, when discussing the event, he expressed his perspective on the magnificence and cultural richness of Bharat, emphasising that the artifacts showcase the opulence found in Bharat’s art, sculptures, and heritage. He said “In that way, a temple is built for Rama that has been done perfectly, the nation’s dream is being fulfilled by Prime Minister Modi. The day that our dream is fulfilled is 22 January. We have lost so many treasures when we have travelled to many foreign countries the treasures that went from here – sculptures and temple idols; seeing all these we can realise the number of precious art sculptures, and heritage that our country has.”

Additionally, he mentioned that Gnana Sambandhar, through his musical compositions, explores the link between Ayodhya and Rameshwaram, encapsulating the essence of worship dedicated to Lord Ram and depicting historical events. In conclusion, he conveyed his blessings for the efforts of Prime Minister Modi.

“In our religion within the areas of Vedas, Puranas, Ithihasas, Thirumurai, and Sastras whatever the doubts we have, can be clarified, and the answers can be looked for within these. Ithihasa means Ramayana and Mahabharatha -the connection between the two is written by Nayanmars. Under the administration of our Atheenam in Vaideeshwarar temple Gnana Sambandar in 11 songs quotes Sambayu, Jatayu, Rama. In the same way, Ramecharam is sung by Gnana Sambandhar and Thirunavukarasar. Our atheenam Kumara Kurubarar in Muthukumarsamy Pillai Tamil quotes “Surya kula vamsa ravi… Ravi kula thilagam Rama, his brother Lakshman and Hanuman have worshipped … Sambayu, Jatayu two birds still are worshipped by people there” like that there are many historical specialties for Ram. Gnana Sambandhar records 1600 years of history such a history is now seen in the Ayodhya. The world is witnessing and praising Modi’s work; we too bless him on this day,” he said.
