Kamal Sings Paeans For ‘Sports Minister’ Udhayanidhi, Ex Indian Cricketer Calls Out Kamal’s Hypocrisy

Former Cricketer and commentator Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has taken a dig at Makkal Needhi Maiam chief Kamal Haasan for being an actor in real life as well.

On Monday, the Tamil Nadu Champions Foundation (TNCF) was officially launched, and the Chief Minister’s Trophy 2023 logo, mascot, and theme song were unveiled at The Leela Palace in Chennai. M.K. Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu (TN), was the chief guest of the event. Udhayanidhi Stalin, TN Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development, also presided. Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was invited as the guest of honor.

The TNCF will be a registered company that will channel and use contributions from corporates and the general public for the development of sports and athletes in the state.

Praising Udhayanidhi Stalin in this regard, on May 9th, Makkal Neethi Maiyam chief and small screen anchor Kamal Haasan said on his Twitter handle, “It is a pleasure that the Tamil Nadu government has organized a huge sports competition named “Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Cup – Kalam Namate!” so that people can improve their skills and compete in the field.”

He added, “My sincere congratulations to my heartfelt brother Udayanidhi Stalin, Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports Development. I urge the people of Tamil Nadu to enthusiastically participate in the event and benefit from these competitions. Let the field be ours.”

However, reacting to the news of Kamal Haasan praising Udhayanithi Stalin for conducting the Chief Minister’s trophy, former cricketer and commentator Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has taken a dig at Kamal Haasan for being an actor in real life too.

Laxman Sivaramakrishnan recounted an incident in which he met Kamal Haasan at a recent event (The King’s Coronation Day), and when introduced to him, Kamal Haasan allegedly ignored him, claiming that he does not follow sports. Laxman Sivaramakrishnan continued, “and within a week, here he is, THE GREATEST ACTOR OF ALL TIME.” The cricketer implied that if Kamal Haasan does not follow a sport that is watched by the majority of the nation, then how is he following the Chief Minister’s trophy, which is only watched by a select few? Hence he called him the “greatest actor of all time (in real life as well)”
