CPI(M) MP Su Venkatesan Peddles Lies Again, This Time About Hindi Being Made Compulsory For TN Vande Bharat Loco Pilots

Su Venkatesan, a CPI(M) MP from Madurai, who is known for willfully misinterpreting the Central government circulars and schemes to make propaganda that the BJP government is enforcing Hindi on Tamils, has now come up with another lie to propagate the same propaganda.

The 20643/20644 MGR Chennai Central – Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express is scheduled to be flagged off from Chennai Station on April 8 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is South India’s second semi-high-speed train and India’s 12th. The train will have eight coaches, including one executive coach, and can carry 530 passengers.

Communist MP Su Venkatesan, a habitual liar, has lied yet again by claiming that the loco pilot driving the first Vande Bharat Express must know Hindi. He asked if it is Vande Bharat or Vande ‘Hindi’ express.

CPI-M MP Su Venkatesan said while posting the circular of the Chennai divisional office of Southern Indian Railways, “It is customary to post an experienced Loco Pilot when new trains are flagged off. However, contrary to this convention, the Indian Railways has made it mandatory for the Loco Pilot of the first Vande Bharat Express, which will be flagged off by Narendra Modi, to know Hindi. Therefore, senior loco pilots are excluded because of this decision. This decision of the Chennai Railway Division is condemnable. It should cancel the Hindi imposition order immediately.”

However, according to an official circular of the Chennai division of Southern Railways posted by the CPI-M MP Venkatesan, the Senior Divisional Operational Manager (Sr DOM) and Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (Sr DEE) must maintain guards and a crew who are fluent in English, Tamil, and Hindi.

It clearly states that the crew and guards must be fluent in both Tamil and Hindi. However, the CPI-M MP concealed the fact that Tamil is also required for the crew and guards and blatantly lied that only those who know Hindi are permitted to attend the Vande Bharat Express flag-off ceremony. It should also be noted that nowhere in the circular does it state that the Loco Pilot of the Vande Bharat Express must know Hindi.

Earlier in December 2021, MP Su. Venkatesan fabricated lies and misquoted Central Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, claiming that the demand for an airport in Madurai was denied by Central Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on a number of grounds. Later, Civil Aviation Minister expressed his disappointment with the misrepresentation of facts by the MP Su Venkatesan.
