CPI (M) goons attack BJYM’s Sreejith Parakalayi in Kasargod

Sreejith Parakalayi, the Kasaragod district vice president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) was attacked allegedly by members of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) late night on April 6. The attack comes at the heels of the all-important assembly elections held in the state.

In a brutal assault, Sreejith was attacked and his legs were hacked at with weapons. The assailants inflicted serious injuries on both of the legs of the victim and fled the scene. The incident took place at Paraklayi, Abalattara police station limits.

Sreejith was rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru. A surgery was performed on him, on Wednesday morning.

While no arrests have been made so far, personnel at the Abalattara police station registered a case and are investigating the crime.

Taking to Twitter, Tejasvi Surya, the BJYM’s National President and MP from Bengaluru South, demanded an inquiry and the arrest of the perpetrators of the heinous crime. “Deeply anguished about the dastardly attack on BJYM Kasaragod dist VP Sreejith Parakalayi by @cpimspeak goons in Kerala. He is in ICU & out of danger. Police have not made any arrests yet. I pray for his speedy recovery BJYM demands arrest of culprits & impartial probe (sic)”, Surya tweeted.
