Congress’ official handle peddles fake news against BJP MLA candidate H Raja

H. Raja, the BJP candidate who is contesting in Karaikudi assembly constituency has been in the headlines after Congress’ failed attempt to spread fake news about him. The part that is nothing short of shocking is that this news was posted on the official handle of the Congress party.

The tweet had mentioned the ‘supposed reply’ of H Raja to a question regarding the Gaja cyclone as to why the Prime Minister had not come to survey the losses caused by the cylone. The Congress’ handle had replied to this, saying that the BJP came to power irrespective of the vote of the people of Tamil Nadu. This was followed by a caption that said Vizhithezhu Thamizha, meaning wake up Tamizha, and asked people to vote for the Congress and DMK instead.

Commenting and resharing this on social media, many netizens claimed that this was photoshopped, and that the Congress was indulging in cheap politics. They went on to share photoshopped tweets of Congress members, and asked them if they could post this, since it was as fake as their post.
