Complaint filed against Prashant Bhushan for circulating fake letter containing forged signature of NSA Doval

A complaint has been filed against Prashant Bhushan for circulating a letter with a fake letterhead of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his forged signature, on social media.

The full-time ‘activist’ had tweeted the letter from his Twitter account with the caption “NSA Doval, complimenting the Chief Secy Utarakhand for organizing the Kumbh Mela & unashamedly asking him to promote the RSS ideology!!

The said fake letter supposedly written by NSA Ajit Doval and addressed to the Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand was posted by Prashant Bhushan from his verified Twitter account on 21st April, 2021 at 14:13PM.

Legal Rights Protection Forum, an NGO working in the space of national security has written a letter to NSA Ajit Doval to take strict action against the ‘activist’.

In its complaint, LRPF said that Prashant Bhushan deleted the tweet at around 04:40 PM after milking the required political mileage out of it.

“The tweeted image has lasted for more than 2 hours and attained traction with 576 retweets (including 328 Quoted Tweets) and 1,552 likes which is enough to defame the image of the National Security Adviser.” the complaint stated.

The complaint also sought the office of NSA to give necessary directions to Twitter India to act on false news propagated on their platform.

“We seek your good office to make thorough inquiry to find out the persons and institutions behind this huge conspiracy and take stringent action in this matter.”, the complaint said.
