DMK Govt To Spend ₹65 Crore Of Public Funds To Build Tamil Nadu Haj House In Nanganallur Near Chennai Airport

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin laid the foundation stone for 206 new projects worth ₹82.99 crore in Nagapattinam district. Additionally, he inaugurated buildings worth ₹139 crore for public use and distributed welfare schemes valued at ₹200.27 crore to 35,956 beneficiaries from various departments.

During the event, CM Stalin made six new announcements for Nagapattinam district, including the establishment of a Tamil Nadu Haj House in Nanganallur, near Chennai Airport, at a cost of ₹65 crore. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized the significance of Nagore Dargah, a site visited by people of multiple faiths, and said that the Haj House announcement would bring joy to the Muslim community.

Highlighting the recurring issue of Tamil Nadu fishermen being arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy, Stalin urged the central government to enter into a new agreement with Sri Lanka to allow fishermen to operate near Katchatheevu. He also called for immediate steps to prevent further arrests and boat seizures by the Sri Lankan Navy.

At the event, Stalin also addressed the foundation stone-laying ceremony for new project works amounting to ₹423 crore and provided welfare assistance to the beneficiaries. The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to infrastructure development and welfare initiatives in the state.
