Chennai Lit Fest Is Back With Its Third Edition

The Chennai Lit Fest, which debuted in 2021, is back for its third edition this year, featuring personalities from Tamil Nadu’s political, literary, and journalistic worlds.

The lit fest is centered on the theme of Tamil Nadu revolutionary poet Subramania Bharati, highlighting his contributions to the Indian freedom struggle. The festival will be held on April 1 and 2, 2023 at the Narada Gana Sabha in Alwarpet, Chennai. The event includes four book launches, one dance program, and an awards ceremony. The list of eminent speakers includes former ISRO Scientist Nambi Narayanan, Tamil Nadu Finance Minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan, Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai, Dr. Raj Kumar, advocate Dr. MR Venkatesh, Editor of Organiser (weekly) Prafulla Ketkar, Kizhakku Pathipagam publisher Badri Seshadri, senior journalist and CEO of Chanakyaa TV Rangaraj Pandey, Rajavel Nagarajan of Pesu Tamizha Pesu, political commentator Sundarraja Cholan to name a few.

Bharatanatyam Artiste and Performer Pavithra Srinivasan, Author Harsh Madhusudan, Karthik Chandrasekar, Chairman of National Commission for Safai Karamcharis Ma Venkatesan, author and columnist Jataayu, epigraphist Kalvettu Ramachandran, political commentator BR Srinivasan, Aravindan Neelakandan, Vijaya Vishwanathan,  Sahitya Academy Award winner Joe D Cruz, Anubhav Dubey, Ambi Moorthy, Tinku Venkatesh, Aravinda L Subramanyan, Sudhakar Kasthuri, Niranjan Bharathi, Shiva Kumar, Dr Aravind Srinivasan, O B Harisha, and Krishnamurthy Ramasubbu, will also grace the occasion with their presence and valuable knowledge.

Former ISRO scientist Padma Bushan Nambi Narayanan will give the inaugural address on April 1st, and Pavitra Srinivasan will give a dance performance on Bharathiyar and Tamil Moovar songs. Mr. Vijayakrishnan will speak on “Dravidam Maraitha Bharathi,” while Badri Seshadri and Aravind L Subramanyan will speak on “Bharathiyin Amirthakalam.”

Indoi Analytics, a knowledge movement that seeks to unite people working for Indian interests, is organizing the literary festival in collaboration with Coromandel Future Positive and Samachar Manyata Association for Research and Training. (SMART).

Indoi Analytics launched the Chennai Lit Fest in March 2021, with speakers including Mrs. Sivashankari, ‘Dravida Maya’ Subbu, Charu Nivedita, Carnatic vocalist ‘Neyveli Santhanagopalan,’ Editor of Organiser magazine Prafulla Ketkar, author Sandeep Balakrishna, and others.

The lit fest celebrated ’75 years of Indian Independence’ in its second edition, held in March 2022, in order to highlight the contributions of the Tamil region in the Indian freedom struggle. This event was held in both Tamil and English, with separate speakers for each segment. During the second edition, BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai delivered the inaugural address.
