After Garuda Prakashan Publications stepped up to publish the book ‘Delhi Riots: The Untold Story’ following its rejection by Bloomsbury, Chennai-based FootPrints Publication has now come forward to publish the book in Tamil.
BJP’s spokesperson for Tamilnadu SG Suryah had extended an offer to publish the book in Tamil under FootPrints Publication. Sankrant Sanu, the Director of Garuda Prakashan, accepted this invitation in a tweet, saying that other regional language publications were welcome to publish this book in other Indic languages. He went on to say that there should be a network for Indic book translation and distribution in all Indian languages.
This book is based on the CAA-NRC riots that had happened in February 2020, which caused quite a stir nationwide. It was to be released in a virtual launch with Rajya Sabha MP Bhupendra Yadav launching the book and BJP leader Kapil Mishra, film director Vivek Agnihotri, OpIndia editor Nupur J Sharma attending the event as guest speakers. The book authored by Monika Arora, Sonali Chitalkar and Prerna Malhotra, had been withdrawn without notice by Bloomsbury India after an organised lobby descended on it for giving space to something that will break the Shaheenbagh propaganda. Following this, Garuda, a home-grown publishing start-up, had stepped forward to publish it.
