BLF ambush Pakistan Army in Balochistan, 20 Pakistani soldiers reportedly killed

The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for killing three soldiers of Pakistan Army. Also, eight others, including an officer, were injured in an ambush on their convoy near Gichak Valley in Balochistan’s Panjgur district on Tuesday (July 14), reported the Eurasian Times.

The BLF had ambushed the Pakistani security personals who they call as occupying forces with rockets and automatic heavy weapons. The Baloch freedom fighters have vowed not to stop the attacks until Balochistan is freed from the oppressive control of Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said that security forces patrolling near Gichak Valley in the Panjgur district of Balochistan came under attack.

“Three soldiers embraced shahadat [martyrdom] while eight soldiers received injuries, including an officer. Five injured are critical,” the ISPR said.

As per reports released by ISPR, the injured soldiers were shifted to Combined Military Hospital in Quetta. Five soldiers remain in critical condition.

Shireen Mazari, Pakistans Human Rights Minister said that the attack was a “condemnable act of terrorism”.

Senate Deputy Chairperson Saleem Mandviwala called the attack on security forces’ patrolling party in Balochistan, was a plot to harm peace in Pakistan. Mandviwala said, “The entire nation stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the armed forces. Our soldiers have made many sacrifices to help establish peace in the country.”

However, some other news outlets have reported higher casualty figures. According to Al Jazeera, 8 Pakistani Army soldiers were killed in the ambush attack in Balochistan.

But the BLF claims 20 soldiers had been eliminated. BLF spokesman Major Gwahram Baloch said, “Sarmachaars attacked a convoy of five vehicles of Pakistan Army in Gichk area of Panjgoor district.”
