BJP Telangana President gives 24 hrs ultimatum to CM to take steps to protect temple lands

Fresh after tasting electoral victory in the recently concluded Municipal Corporations Election in Telangana, BJP’s Telangana unit President Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday (16 December) told Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to take steps for the protection of temple lands in the old city part of Hyderabad within the next 24 hours.

The BJP Telangana President has set a 24-hour ‘deadline’ for the protection of temple lands which has been encroached in the old city and warned that if the CM failed to respond, he would launch a movement in the old city.

Bandi Sanjay Kumar has demanded the lands be recovered and handed them over to the endowment departments. He also alleged that the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) encroached endowment lands in the Chandrayangutta constituency and used the name of a Hindu to make fake documents and mislead the court.

The BJP leader who won the Lok Sabha election in 2019 from Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency also claimed that the police officials colluded with MIM leaders and that the government lands are being encroached under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Another BJP MLA Raja Singh has alleged that MIM was trying to encroach the Kalimata temple and has claimed that BJP workers resisted three attempts to grab the land. During such attempts of encroachments, the police beat up party workers, including women, he said.
