BJP Leader Ashvathaman Levels Complaint To ECI Against DMK Influencing Voters By Offering Money In Tiruvannamalai Constituency On Election Day

The eagerly awaited 2024 parliamentary elections have dawned, with citizens displaying enthusiastic participation since the early hours, demonstrating a strong commitment to upholding democracy. However, concerning reports and allegations have surfaced, indicating that the ruling DMK government is potentially leveraging its authority to influence voters by offering monetary incentives to support their alliance.

A Ashvathaman, the State Secretary of the Tamil Nadu BJP and the Lok Sabha candidate for the Tiruvannamalai constituency, has leveled up a complaint with the Election Commission of India. He alleges widespread money distribution by the DMK in Booths 110 and 111 of Melarani in the Kalasapakkam area. Despite his requests for assistance from the flying squad, they failed to arrive promptly. So, he headed to where the money was being distributed. An argument erupted between the two groups, but local leaders stepped in to ensure a peaceful resolution.

Ashvathaman on his official X account stated, “I went there after receiving information that DMK was distributing money to voters near Melarani booth 110 and 111 in Kalasapakkam area. Flying Squad still not here despite complaint @ECISVEEP @SpokespersonECI”
