Commenting on increasing the number of cases of coronavirus infections in the country, Thirumavalavan, the head of the Vidudhalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) had sent out a press release demanding the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Modi.
Posting his statement on Twitter, he had tweeted saying, “Prime Minister #Modi is morally responsible for the loss of several thousand lives because of his utterly inept handling of this Covid-19 public health crisis. #VCK calls upon PM Modi to take responsibility for the failure of his government and #resign immediately.”
Retaliating to this statement, former IPS officer and BJP’s Aravakurichi candidate K. Annamalai accused Thirumavalavan of being a hypocrite and hate-mongering against COVID vaccinations. He then went on to say how it was the same person who had rushed to get the COVID vaccine shot and was now doing meaningless drama as a political stunt to remain relevant. He then asked him to learn to gain some amount of social responsibility.
Mr.Thirumavalavan!
You had instilled fear among public about the efficacy of the vaccines despite you being the first one to take a vaccine shot & now you do this meaningless drama to keep yourself politically relevant
Learn something about being socially responsible atleast now! https://t.co/Jh4gcRJQfb— K.Annamalai (@annamalai_k) April 19, 2021
