BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai’s departure to the UK for the prestigious Chevening Gurukul Fellowship has prompted the party to form a state committee to steer operations in his absence. Led by H. Raja as Convener, the committee includes senior leaders who will coordinate with the State Core Committee to manage party activities. This strategic move ensures continuity in leadership while Annamalai is engaged in the three-month program at Oxford University.
State BJP chief Annamalai departed for the United Kingdom on August 28, 2024, to participate in the prestigious Chevening Gurukul Fellowship for Leadership and Excellence at Oxford University, a three-month program.
In order to steer the party in his absence, the BJP has formed a state committee comprising senior state leaders. National Executive Member H. Raja is the Convener of this committee.
The committee also includes State Vice Presidents M. Chakravarthy and Professor P. Kanagasabapathi, state General Secretaries M. Muruganandam and Prof. Raama Sreenivasan, and State Treasurer S.R. Sekhar.
The BJP stated that this committee will discuss party activities with the State Core Committee and make decisions.
“Each member of the Coordination Committee will look after activities in 1 or 2 zones as to be decided by the State President and Convener of the Coordination Committee”, the statement said.
