Anti-India and anti-Hindu ‘journalist’ and commentator Mehdi Hasan came under fire after resharing a very visibly AI-generated fake video that showed a Hindi-speaking news anchor making claims about the United States, Iran, and Pakistan. The clip itself appears fabricated, with obvious signs of artificial generation in both visuals and audio, and the setting suggests a false narrative that Pakistan mediated a ceasefire between Iran and the US.
This was the said video.
Early morning or late night, if you are saying you couldn’t recognise this as AI then maybe you shouldn’t be the Editor-in-chief and CEO of a new(sic) media company.

After backlash, Hasan posted an apology on 8 April 2026, saying he had reshared an “edited/inaccurate clip” from Indian cable news and blaming his “early-morning itchy Twitter trigger finger” for the mistake. He also said the platform is full of “misinformation & disinformation and AI” and urged people to be more careful before sharing.

But the apology itself quickly became controversial because it seemed to shift the blame onto India rather than acknowledge that the video may not even have originated in India at all. Hasan seemed to have used his own error to frame India negatively, despite the fact that the clip was clearly AI-generated and could just as easily have come from Pakistan or another source. But still, he shared it and in his alleged apology ensured that India was the perpetrator and he was the victim.

It is a well-known fact that Mehdi Hasan is vocally anti-India.
Liberal woke Islamist journalist Mehdi Hasan who is a closet terror sympathizer thinks that as a Muslim he has the divine right to have the moral high ground no matter what. In fact, he once said, “Once we lose the moral high ground we are no different from the rest, of the non-Muslims, from the rest of those human beings who live their lives as animals, bending any rule to fulfill any desire.”
Gentle reminder that Mehdi Hasan has previously characterized non-Muslims as immoral people who “live their lives like animals,” and lumped homosexuals together with pedophiles and sexual deviants in his speeches: pic.twitter.com/ZX7b71EvSJ

Though Mehdi Hasan grew up in a very multicultural environment in the United Kingdom, his disdain and sheer hate for non-Muslims has been visible for years. As a very strong debater, he must be acknowledged for providing brilliant intellectual covering fire when it comes to vilifying the other side.
His particular target has been the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi who he equates to Adolph Hitler. In one of his tweets, Hasan tried to get the attention of the liberal cabal when he said, “Putin. Orban. Le Pen. We talk a lot in the West about the rise of far-right authoritarians and yet we never mention India’s Narendra Modi and his BJP. I did a deep-dive into India under Modi & new warnings of an anti-Muslim genocide,”.
Without missing a breath, he equated Hindu Nationalism in India with white Supremacy in the West, which is an ideology based on race. He also said that ‘Hinduism’ and ‘Hindutva’ are different which is a line parroted by many leftists, Congress supporters and Dravidianists in India to undermine Hindus.

In 2021, he platformed George-Soros-funded, anti-India activist Sunita Vishwanath to unleash her propaganda against India and the Modi government.
Hasan used to be a part of Al-Jazeera.
Hasan also allegedly once made a post on his social media “Make American Planes Crash Again” hinting at a repeat of the twin tower terror attack. He posted this on 16 February 2025 shortly after a U.S. plane crash, as a satirical jab at the “Make America Great Again” slogan in the context of U.S. foreign policy.

He deleted it soon after amid backlash, later calling it “poorly worded” and blaming critics for Islamophobia.
