Another minor Hindu girl in Pakistan abducted, converted to Islam and married off to kidnapper

In yet another incident of terrorization of Hindu minorities in the Islamic state of Pakistan, a minor Hindu girl was kidnapped, converted to Islam and was then married off to the same kidnapper. The incident happened in Jacobabad in Sindh province of Pakistan.

Wazir Hussain kidnapped a young Reshaman on June 18. The minor Hindu girl later turned up and produced a certificate carrying the new name Beesharan claiming that she was 19 and that she converted on her own will. She was later forcibly married off to the same Wazir Hussain who kidnapped her.

The report of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan states that at least 1000 non-Muslim girls are converted to Islam every year. Majority of them belong to the Hindu community from Sindh where about 8 million Hindus live.

Other instances of religious persecution of non-Muslims in Pakistan

Prior to this, 2 Hindu girls – Suthi and Shama were forcibly abducted by a local politician of Sindh province from Chundiko town. The family too faced constant threats from Islamists.

Another young girl Chandri Kolhi from Noukot, Mirpurkhas was kidnapped, converted and married to Allah Dino. The family of the girl lodged a complaint alleging that their girl was forcefully abducted and converted to Islam.

In March 2019, Raveena (13) and Reena (15) were abducted from Ghotki in Sindh on the eve of Holi and were forcefully converted to older Muslim men.

A Sikh girl was abducted and forcefully converted to Islam in Nankana Sahib in August 2019. In March 2019, 13 year old Pooja Sotahar Kumari, daughter of Fatan Rathore belonging to Bakhso Laghari in Hyderabad district was kidnapped, forcefully converted and married off to one Syed Irshad Shah.

It is to be noted that Pakistan is a signatory to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which gives the right to freedom of religion that includes not just the right to change one’s religion but also that one shall not be coerced to change their religion.

The terrorist state of Pakistan quite often advices India on human rights by raking up Kashmir while it has been notoriously indulging in persecution of non-Muslims in Pakistan.
