Workers at the Amma Unavagam located in Aarapalayam in Madurai have been protesting against the DMK government’s move to evict them and appoint their own party people.
Amma Canteen is a landmark scheme brought by the previous AIADMK regime under Jayalalithaa. It has been a life saviour for many of the poor and working class people.
The workers at the canteen located at Aarapalayam in Madurai district have been protesting saying that the local DMK men are harassing them and leaving no stone unturned to drive them out.
It has been alleged that the they are being thrown out of their jobs so that the local DMK could appoint their own party sympathizers and workers.
