In a major development, the Delhi Police special cell on Monday (7 December) arrested five terrorists in the national capital. What is more shocking is the arrest of two Khalistani terrorists and the stopping of a major terror plot in the nation’s capital which is now under siege by ‘farmer’ protests.
As per TOI journalist Raj Shekhar Jha, the three remaining terrorists hail from Kashmir and two of them have been identified as Abdul Latif Mir and Mohd Ashraf Khatana. Police are trying to find out which Islamic terror organisation these terrorists belong to.

Reports say that the five terrorists were nabbed by the police and the terrorists exchanged brief gunfire and weapons. Incriminating documents have also been recovered from them.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Special Cell Pramod Kushwaha said “Five persons apprehended following an exchange of fire in the Shakarpur area of Delhi. Two of them are from Punjab, three are from Kashmir. Weapons and other incriminating materials recovered,”.
The arrest of these terrorists also shed light into the assassination of Shaurya Chakra awardee Balwinder Singh in Punjab in October. As per the Delhi Police, the terror module busted by them was responsible for the assassination of a decorated veteran.
The terrorists were reportedly planning something similar in Delhi that is home to many retired military officers.
Singh was shot dead by bike-borne assailants in Tarn Taran, three months after his security was withdrawn and as per reports, the assassination has now been classified as an act of terror.
The two men identified as Gurjeet Singh and Sukhdeep Singh as the killers who assassinated the former Indian army servicemen.
Delhi Police have also said the group was backed by Pakistan’s intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) for narco-terrorism.
